Call the neighborhood what you will ... a "food desert" or "food swamp" ... it's just plain hard to get healthy, affordable and culturally appropriate foods anywhere close to your front door, if you live in this part of the City.
Fresh and Easy was the first new market to open in decades here. And it's the most recent to close.
